Cong celebrates Foundation Day

SRINAGAR/JAMMU, Dec 28: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) president led the senior Party leaders, District presidents, Block heads and others celebrated Party’s 140th Foundation Day at Srinagar Party office and highlighted the supreme sacrifices, selfless services of the Party towards the Nation building, people empowerment, maintaining unity and harmony in the country.
Speaking on the occasion, JKPCC chief, Tariq Hameed Karra reaffirmed the Party’s commitment under the leadership of Mallikarjun Kharge, CPP Chairperson, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to uphold the values of Constitution of India, saying that every Congress worker and leader feels bound to fight to safeguard Constitution and save the democracy & democratic institutions, which stands guarantee to justice and equality.
Karra conveyed greetings to every Congress worker, whose unwavering commitment and hard work continue to sustain this magnificent movement, reflecting that Congress is the only unifying force in the country, which stands guarantee to protection of constitutional rights of every individual living in the country irrespective of his/her caste, region, religion or colour.
Later, PCC chief presided over a monthly review of Blocks across the Kashmir region in which Block heads from all the districts were present and gave feedback respect to their organizational activities on the ground.
In Jammu, an impressive function was held at PCC headquarters to celebrate the Foundation Day of the party.
Working president, Raman Bhalla hoisted the party flag in the presence of senior leaders including former Minister- Mula Ram, chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, I/C Hqrs Ved Mahajan and other senior leaders.
The traditional salute and the National Anthem was sung by all Congress leaders and workers present on the occasion amidst raising of slogans of “Indian National Congress Zindabad, ” Bharat Mata Ki Jai”. The function was organized by District Congress Committee Jammu Urban led by Th Manmohan Singh in coordination with Congress Seva Dal led by its Chief Vijay Sharma, which was attended by functionaries of PCC, DCC, Block, Frontal Wings and others.
AICC Media Team members – Saif Ali Naqvi, Amrish Pandey, Archit Singh and Arish Khan also attended the function.
Addressing the gathering Bhalla said that Congress has history of struggle and sacrifices of 140 years for the freedom of the country and for the unity, integrity and diversity. “Today, once again the circumstances are similar to those existing before independence. The rights of people are being crushed, there is dictatorship everywhere, democratic and constitutional institutions are being finished. Unemployment is at its peak, farms and fields are being attacked. We have to fight against it.” Bhalla said.
On Foundation Day let us acknowledge the selfless service and contributions of millions of Congress workers, men & women, who have helped build & sustain the Congress party over the ages, Bhalla observed.
