Kargil children to get free treatment

KARGIL, Oct 26:  ‘ Being Human’, of actor Salman Khan foundation and Fortis Memorial Research Institute (FMRI)  Gurgaon has announced any boy in this border town, suffering heart ailment, will be provided free medical treatment.
Being Human and FMRI in collaboration with the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil and Mahindra Kargil organized a two day Cardiac Medical Camp at Tourist Facilitation Center (TFC) Biamathang here today.
Harish Singh Balchandani in charge FMRI, Gurgaon, said the children who are being screened during the camp will be provided free medical treatment even if they have to be operated upon in Delhi.
He said FMRI team headed by chief Cardiac Surgeon Dr Sandeep, Pediatrician Surgeon and Intervention Cardiologist and other Doctors are here to examine and screen the patients.
The Chief Executive Councilor (CEC) LAHDC Kargil Haji Asgar Ali Karbalie inaugurated the Camp along with the Deputy Commissioner Kargil Fida Hussain.
The CEC thanked the Salman Khan Foundation and Fortis on behalf of the people of Kargil for organizing such Camp in Kargil for the first time.
The in-charge Salman Khan Foundation (Being Human), Loretta Lewis said they will continue such camps in Kargil next year also.
We will conduct another camp in March or April next year, she said.
She said the main motive of conducting such camp is to provide heart care and other medical facilities of top class to the children of such far-flung areas in the age group of 0-18 years.
She was happy to see the response from the people of Kargil and thanked everyone who played in an important role in organising the camp. (UNI)
