Karbalai calls on CM

JAMMU, Apr 8: Member of Legislative Assembly from Kargil Constituency, Asgar Ali Karbalai, called on Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti this morning to deliberate on various public issues confronting the people of district Kargil.
The issues, which Asgar Karbalai raised with the Chief Minister during the meeting, included maintaining the ration scale as past practice by implementing the NFSA with modifications or a separate scheme for Ladakh region whereby it could cover the food balance requirement.
Highlighting the problems faced by the students at Suresh Gyan Vihar University, Jaipur Rajasthan, he requested the CM for immediate intervention with the Central Government for release of scholarships and to take up the matter with the Vice Chancellor of the University for directing the concerned authorities not to harass the students till the scholarships are released. He also advocated with the Chief Minister for early implementation and execution of work on Zojila Tunnel Project and inclusion of Kargil district under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT). During the course of the meeting, Karbalai also raised the issue of Special Duty Allowance for employees working in Ladakh region and allocation of funds for completion of work on 200-bed hospital at Kurbathang. He also advocated with the Chief Minister for financial assistance for promotion of tourism in Kargil in terms of development of infrastructure, developing new tourist destinations, creation of new camping sites and need for focussing on developing marketing strategies for Kargil as a potential tourist destination. He also requested the CM for facilitating a process for deputation of Ladakhi SSB Jawan personnel in ITBP.
He raised the issue of reservation in promotion for Government employees and requested her to look into the matter compassionately and direct the administrative heads for compliance of the Supreme Court’s decision and provide due shares to the category holders in promotion.
The Chief Minister gave a patient hearing and assured Asgar Ali Karbalai that she would take appropriate actions in regard to all issues of Kargil he raised during the meeting.
