KATHUA, Jan 19: Alleging that the Bani Administration is harassing them, the residents of village Kanthal staged a protest demonstration here today.
A large number of people led by ex Sarpanch Uttam Chand staged the protest demonstration and seek justice into the matter.
As per reports a water supply scheme to village Balak was approved and a team of water testing officials reached in the village Kanthal to get the samples of natural water.
The residents alleged and raised their objections over the supply of water from their village to other village.
They said, “We are already facing water scarcity and natural water is used for numbers of domestic and agricultural purposes with running of water Atta Chakki. They will never allow the PHE Deptt to supply this water from their village to other villages.”
They also alleged that when we are protesting in peaceful manner, the police detained six people.
The protesters appealed to the tehsildar Bani to release the detained persons and stop shifting of water from Kanthal village to other villages.
