Kandi area remained neglected during BJP regime: Manohar

KATHUA, Dec 23: Senior Congress leader and president DCC Kathua, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma has alleged that entire Kandi belt of Kathua remained neglected during BJP regime in the State.
Addressing public meetings at village Gurha Mundian and Amalla Dhaloti of Block Barnoti today , Sharma criticized previous BJP for neglecting Kandi areas of state on all fronts.
He lambasted BJP Govt and its leadership for dividing country on communal lines. He said BJP talks of temples but 250 ancient temples alone were demolished during BJP rule in past 4 years. He said BJP rakes up temple issue only when elections are nearer to communalize the situation and once elections are over, they forget temple.
While felicitating the newly elected Sarpanches and Panches of the area DCC president said newly elected Panchayat members will work for overall development of Panchayats and work as leader of whole Panchayats and not of a particular set of people in order to fulfill the dream of Late Rajiv Gandhi of Panchayati Raj as 3- tier local self- government.
During the meeting people apprised problems faced by them especially shortage of drinking water. They raised demand of tube well at Garnari as area was facing acute shortage of water. Dr Sharma assured that he will raise their issue before District administration Kathua. He said participation of youth and females in just concluded Panchayat elections is a positive sign.
Others present in the meeting included Subash Gupta Ex-MLC, Sarpanches Sheetal Sharma, Madhu Sharma, Karan Manhas, Ladi Khajuria, Vinod Kumar, Ranjana Slathia, Manju Pathania, Naveen Singh Jasrotia and others.
