JAMMU, Mar 29: A painting exhibition organized by the Kala Kendra, Jammu was held today at the G R Santosh Gallery, located on the ground floor of the institution.
The exhibition showcases around 40 works by noted artist from Reasi, Rajinder Pal Singh, reflecting his artistic journey spanning the last 17 years.
A large number of prominent artists, writers and art lovers from Jammu visited the gallery and appreciated the exhibited works.
Dr Javaid Rahi, Secretary Kala Kendra, stated that the main objective of organizing the exhibition is to provide a platform to local artists to showcase their creative work and engage with the wider audience.
Padma Shri awardee Rajinder Tickoo, who was the chief guest, described Rajinder Pal Singh as a prominent name in the field of modern art in Jammu.
He remarked that Singh’s work has always impressed him deeply, adding that he has even acquired some of his drawings for his personal collection.
Senior artist Vijay Saraf ‘Meenaghe’ said that Rajinder Pal Singh’s works reflect the continuity of artistic traditions in the region.
He noted that the paintings vividly express the artist’s inner world through colors and forms and also emphasized the importance of public support in purchasing artworks to strengthen the artistic community.
Eminent art historian and critic Dr Lalit Gupta congratulated the artist for his distinctive style, which sets him apart from his contemporaries.
He appreciated the role of Kala Kendra in promoting artists by providing them with a dedicated space for exhibitions.
The artist, Rajinder Pal Singh, while speaking about his work, said that the solo exhibition titled “Sublime Nature (2009-2026)” is the result of his consistent engagement with modern art over the years.
The exhibition will continue till 1st April 2026.
