JAMMU, Dec 9: The 14th Foundation Day and ‘Kailakh Sanskrit Ratna’ annual award ceremony of Shri Kailakh Jyotish Avim Vedic Sansthan Trust will be held on December 11, 2025, at Mishriwala Jammu.
This was announced by Mahant Rohit Shastri, State Awardee and President of the Trust, during a press conference here today.
He informed that this year, the prestigious ‘Kailakh Sanskrit Ratna’ Award will be conferred upon Prof Shrinivasa Varakhedi, Vice Chancellor, Central Sanskrit University, for his remarkable contribution to the promotion of Sanskrit.
The Lieutenant Governor of J&K, Manoj Sinha, will be the chief guest of the event and the ceremony will be presided over by Anant Shri Vibhushit Shrimad Jagadguru Ramanujacharya Swami Vasudevacharya (Vidyabhaskar Swami) Maharaj, Kausalesh Sadan, Ayodhya (UP).
Sham Lal Sharma, MLA, Jammu North, and Prof Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, will grace the occasion as special guests.
Mahant Rohit Shastri further stated that the event will feature a cultural and agricultural exhibition, a Dogra food court, and various Sanskrit and Dogri cultural performances, which will serve as major attractions of the celebration.
He emphasized that Jammu & Kashmir has always been the sacred land of Devavani Sanskrit, and this initiative is a significant step toward reviving and popularizing the Sanskrit language at the grassroots level. He appealed to Sanskrit scholars and enthusiasts from across the country to attend the event in large numbers and make it successful. Eminent Sanskrit scholars and intellectuals from various states of India will participate in the ceremony.
R K Chhibber, Bhushan Singh Jamwal, Arun Gupta and Prabodh Sharma were also present during the press conference.
