Jyotshi Karyalya announces Pt Prem Nath Shastri Samman

JAMMU, Aug 6: A meeting for revival of Sharda script was held here, today which was jointly organised by Jyotshi Karyalya Gole Gujral and Pir Panchal a socio cultural organisation.
The meeting was chaired by Ramesh Hangloo president, Pir Panchal and among others it was addressed by Jyotshi Avtar Krishan Shastri.
Ramesh Hangloo said that Sharda was the ancient script for writing Kashmiri and its revival is the need of hour.
He urged Jyotshi Karyalaya Gole Gujral to play its active role in this regard.
On the occasion Pt Avtar Krishan Shastri highlighted the contribution of Pt Prem Nath Shastri a doyen of Kashmir culture who he said had dedicated his entire life for keeping the ancient Hindu culture of Kashmir alive. He said Shastri Ji had always stressed on revival of the Sharda script and his 26th Nirwan Diwas falling on August 10 will be observed as Sharda script revival day.
He said in this connection a grand function will be held at Gole Gujral here. He also announced that this year the Award Selection Committee has nominated Dr Rattan Dhar former Director Forensics and a social activist for Pt Prem Nath Shastri Samman.
