JAMMU, June 28: Jammu Youth Forum (JYF) today lashed on authorities of University of Jammu (JU) for not paying any attention towards Health Centre in the University campus saying it has become defunct due to non availability of staff. The Forum demanded that the Health Center be kept open 24 hours.
Addressing a press conference, JYF general secretary, Satpal Singh, said every year University collects lakhs of rupees in the shape of fee from the students for health facility. But, the money was not being utilized properly. He said that Health Centre doesn’t provide medicines besides; there is no male doctor in the Centre.
He disclosed that Health Centre has X-Ray Machine but don’t have Machine operator, because of which the facility is unavailable to the patients. He also said that the Health Centre has Auto Analyser Machine but for lack of Machine operator, for last two years machine is gathering dust in health centre.
He said that posts of staff meant for health center should be filled as early as possible and doctors should be made available round the clock.
