JAMMU, Sept 21: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) activists here today staged a protest demonstration against poor facilities at Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu and demanded closure of all the schools besides a 15 day complete lockdown to tackle COVID-19 problem.
Addressing the protesters JWAM leader, Sunil Dimple claimed that GMC Jammu is on ventilator and there is no improvement even after the visit of central team.
He alleged that no one is attending patients in isolation ward of GMC despite Rs. 50 lakh insurance of all doctors, paramedical staff and others.
Dimple also said that Gastro Department of GMC Jammu is closed for the last four years and urged upon the LG Manoj Sinha to start the OPD at AIIMS Jammu.
He alleged that GMC Jammu has become a death hub without oxygen, ventilators and in-fight of doctors.
The JWAM leader claimed that during his visit to the GMC he found situation there very grim with senior doctors having become very irresponsible and people fear visiting the GMC and other government hospitals.
He also claimed that critical patients of Asthma, heart, cancer, kidney etc are badly suffering due to shortage of oxygen and ventilators.
Prominent among those present in the protest were Mukesh Gupta, Jetinder Gupta, S. Harpal Singh, Vipan Mahajan, Jyoti Mahajan, Ram Kumar Das, Ashok Khanna, Sonu Dogra and Vicky Kumar.
