JAMMU, Nov 6: The activists of Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) held a protest rally today to convey clear message to the visiting Prime Minister, Narendra Modi in Jammu tomorrow.
Addressing the protesters JWAM president Sunil Dimple demanded the visiting Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit the State with the official orders for AIIMS in Jammu and to make it a “smart city”.
Dimple urged the Prime Minister to issue the official notification of the Jammu AIIMS, specifically mentioning the date of laying of foundation stone for the same.
He also demanded exclusive financial package for the Jammu region, making Jammu a mega city and for making the Jammu winter capital a model State in the country.
He demanded for the return of the power projects to the State and urged for immediate scrapping of Indus water treaty with Pakistan, special financial package for the tourism in the Jammu region, flyovers, Gondola project, development of the lakes of the Jammu region and the upgradation of the Jammu Railway station.
He also urged for connecting all the 10 districts of the Jammu region with the rail lines in Jammu region.
Dimple said that there is lot of resentment and unrest, among the people, youth and all sections of all the three regions particularly in the Jammu region of the State against this BJP-PDP coalition Government.
He demanded fulfilling the promises and commitment made by PM with the people of the State during the Parliament elections.
Other protesters were Sham Saroop, Som Nath Sharma, Harbans Tondon, Raman Gupta, Dev Raj, Kulwant Sharma, Vipan, Mukesh, Rakesh and Raj Kumar.
