JAMMU, Nov 21: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) today held a protest demonstration against the CAPD Ministry for increasing the rates of ration on Government ration depots.
The activists of JWAM along with members of poor families came on road at New Plot and raised slogans against the State Government and CAPD Department for increasing the prices of Atta, Rice, Sugar and Kerosene Oil in Government depots.
While speaking on the occasion, JWAM president, Sunil Dimple, said that this is injustice with the poor BPL families and criticized the BJP MLAs and MPs for remaining mum on the issue. He further criticized the BJP MLAs for not raising the issue of the shortage and the black marketing of the ration in the cabinet meeting.
He said Food Security Bill has totally failed in the State and people are not getting ration under the Bill. Dimple said 3 litres kerosene oil per month to one family is joke with poverty of the poor people by this BJP-PDP Government.
Dimple demanded to increase the kerosene oil quota on per ration card to 30 litres per month to each family and sugar 20 kg per month per family.
He demanded to arrest the black marketers of kerosene oil, LPG and the CAPD ration, and also exempt the sale tax and VAT on the sale of the diesel, petrol, LPG gas and kerosene oil.
