JAMMU, Aug 6: A juvenile suffered severe injuries after he was stabbed multiple times by his maternal uncle over a minor issue in Arnia area here today.
Taking cognisance of the matter, police have arrested and booked the accused, also a juvenile, for attempted murder, and started further investigation into the matter.
A police official said an altercation broke out between two juveniles, originally from Bihar, who are also relatives, over filling of water from a tap near Bus Stand Arnia.
In the scuffle, he said, the maternal uncle stabbed his nephew in the stomach multiple times, resulting in severe injuries to the latter.
He was immediately taken to a healthcare facility at Arnia, where, after preliminary treatment, he was further referred to Government Medical College Jammu for advanced treatment, the police official said.
According to him, the accused has been booked in case FIR number 53/2025 under section 109 BNS (Attempted murder) and further investigation has been set into motion.
