JAMMU, May 8: Board of Juvenile Justice Rajouri comprising Assma Choudhary (Principal Magistrate), Shawani Sharma (Member) and Anuradha Sharma (Member) has dismissed the application seeking bail of a juvenile in a young boy’s murder case.
After hearing Advocate Ashfaq Lone for the applicant/Child in Conflict with Law (CCL) and Assistant Public Prosecutor, the Board observed, “a young boy has been murdered in the broad day light. The charge-sheet was filed on April 24, 2025 and inquiry into the case is yet to begin”.
“In these set of circumstances, to secure the course of justice we don’t see a case for interference at this stage as such the application is dismissed”, the Board said.
“The allegations leveled by counsel for the CCL regarding bias and willful framing of CCL in the case by the investigating officer is a matter of inquiry and evidence”, the Board said, adding “in any eventuality, where investigating officer is found to have conducted investigation against CCL in an unjust manner or where he is found to have willfully withheld relevant documents or not have produced CCL before the Board in the first instance when a plea of juvenility was raised before him, he may be prosecuted in terms of Section 8 Clause 3 and Sub-Clause (K) and (I) of the Juvenile Justice Act for the commission of offence against a child in conflict with law”.
