JAMMU, June 30: Non-Gazetted Employees Union (NGEU), University of Jammu held three hours token strike regarding their long pending demands.
Large number of non-gazetted employees assembled infront of the Old Administration Block and raised slogans in favour of their demands.
While speaking, Vijay Kumar, president, NGEU, University of Jammu warned the Varsity authoriries that if their demands are not conceded within a short period of time, their token strike will be converted in full day from July 5.
He projected the demands including removal of 2750 grade as approved by the University Council and also implements it on other categories except C-IV employees of the Varsity.
Vice Chancellor has constituted a ‘Task Force Committee’ of four presidents to resolve the pending demands of the NGEU, University of Jammu within a period of two days positively, he said, adding that if the committee remained unable to resolve their demands, the members of the Committee will be held responsible.
He urged Pro-Chancellor, University of Jammu to intervene and resolve the matter at the earliest.
