JAMMU, Mar 20: Jumat-ul Vida the last Friday of fasting month of Ramzan was observed with religious fervor, gaiety and devotion across Jammu region today. The Muslims in large numbers thronged the mosques and Eidgahs to perform Friday prayers and prayed for peace and prosperity of mankind.
In Jammu large congregations were held in mosques and Eidgahs to perform Friday prayers on this auspicious day. Prayers were held in Jamia Masjid Khatinga Talab, Ustad Mohalla, Bhatindi and Sidhrah besides other places by the members of Muslim community who besides praying for peace and prosperity of mankind also prayed for early end to Iran-US, Israel war and end to bloodshed.
The religious scholars in their sermons highlighted the significance of this auspicious and holy day in the history of Islam as well as the significance of fasting month of Ramzan. They appealed the people to foster the bonds of love and brotherhood among the communities which is the main teaching of Islam.
The auspicious occasion of Jumat-ul-Vida, also was observed with profound religious devotion, spiritual fervour, and collective reverence across various parts of Rajouri district today.
Thousands of devotees thronged mosques and Eidgahs from early morning hours, forming large congregations to offer special Friday prayers. The atmosphere resonated with faith and solemnity as people gathered in significant numbers at key locations including Rajouri town, Thannamandi, Koteranka, Manjakote, Shahdara Sharief, and other adjoining areas of the district. Religious scholars, in their sermons, underscored the immense spiritual significance of Jumat-ul-Vida, urging the faithful to embody the core teachings of Islam which advocate compassion, unity, humility, and service to humanity. They emphasized the importance of strengthening communal harmony and fostering a spirit of brotherhood in society. Special prayers and supplications were offered for enduring peace, prosperity, and stability in the region.
The district administration, in coordination with local committees and religious bodies, ensured comprehensive arrangements for the smooth and orderly conduct of prayers. Adequate measures were put in place to manage large gatherings, ensuring safety, discipline, and convenience for the devotees. The observance concluded peacefully, reflecting the deep-rooted traditions of harmony and coexistence in the region. Devotees fervently prayed for the wellbeing of all, reaffirming their collective commitment towards maintaining peace, unity, and mutual respect in society.
Reports reaching here said that Jumat–ul-Vida was also observed with great reverence and devotion at Poonch, Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Banihal, Bhadarwah and other districts and towns of Jammu region were a large number of members of Muslim community thronged the mosques to offer prayers on this auspicious day. The authorities had made elaborate arrangements for the devotees on the occasion.
