JAMMU, July 29: Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member of Parliament, today paid a visit to the Sankat Mochan Panchmukhi Shree Hanuman Mandir Bhawan of the “Jammu Yatri Bhawan Trust, situated at B.C. road here”.
Upon his arrival he was warmly welcomed by Pawan Kumar Shastri, president of the Trust, accompanied by Gurdas Sharma, general secretary/treasurer.
During the visit, Jugal Kishore performed “Puja Archana” at the revered temple, seeking blessings from Lord Hanuman. The president of the Trust, Pawan Kumar Shastri, highlighted the pressing concerns faced by Jammu residents, particularly those visiting Haridwar during times of distress for performing last rites and other sacred rituals.
Shastri Ji, also apprised the M.P. about the existing transportation challenges, stating that presently, “There is only one regular train service from Katra to Rishikesh (14610/14609)”, which is consistently overcrowded from Katra itself. This makes it an arduous task for Jammu residents, especially for senior citizens and physically handicapped individuals, to secure reservations, particularly during auspicious occasions, when many yearn to partake in sacred “Ganga Darshan” and “Holy Ganga Snan”.
He further said that although the Railway Ministry, Government of India graciously sanctioned a weekly Train “Yog Nagri Rishikesh-Jammu Tawi (14606/14605)” and requested the M.P. to intervene with the concerned Ministry to upgrade this service to a regular daily train instead of its currently weekly frequency. This would greatly alleviate the suffering of aggrieved families who wish to visit Haridwar in emergency for “Asthia Visarjan”.
Jugal Kishore Sharma assured Shastri Ji that he would take up the matter with concerned Ministry and work towards making the Jammu-Rishikesh train service a daily affair bringing immense relief to the community.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, appreciated Shastri’s initiative in championing the cause of Jammuities and praised his efforts in seeking regular additional train service on this route.
