JAMMU, Nov 22: Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Jammu-Reasi, today visited village Sai Kalan in Suchetgarh Assembly constituency and led ‘Unity March’ to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary year of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India.
The march saw the enthusiastic participation of GHSS Sai Kalan, local residents, Ex Sarpanches and Panches, prominent citizens and senior BJP leaders including Gharu Ram Bhagat, MLA Suchetgarh, Sham Lal Choudhary former Minister, Baldev Billoria general secretary BJP, Rajinder Chib Prabhari, Rinku Choudhary district president, Surjeet Singh and Ashok Virdi, Mandal presidents and others who came together to honour Sardar Patel’s remarkable contributions to India’s unity and independence.
The event was marked by a spirit of collective patriotism and unity, reflecting the enduring relevance of Patel’s ideals.
In his address, Jugal Kishore emphasized Sardar Patel’s pivotal role in unifying the nation and spoke about the importance of preserving his legacy through continuous efforts to foster national integrity, harmony, and inclusive growth. He said that Sardar Patel’s dream of unity lives on and urged people to follow Patel’s vision of a United India, which transcends all barriers of caste, creed, and region.
Sharma also praised Prime Minister, Narendra Modi for his ongoing efforts to Sardar Patel’s legacy. He highlighted the creation of the “Statue of Unity” in Gujarat, the world’s tallest statue, as a monumental tribute to Patel’s contribution to India’s political integration. Under the leadership of PM Modi, numerous initiatives have been undertaken to strengthen the spirit of unity and integrity in the country, ensuring that Patel’s ideals continue to inspire future generations.
The unity march was a significant demonstration of collective resolve, with participants reaffirming their commitment to the values of unity, peace, and progress that Patel championed throughout his life.
Sharma further interacted with the villagers, listening to their concerns and discussing potential Government initiatives aimed at fostering local development and improving infrastructure in the region.
