JAMMU, Feb 4: To meet the long pending demand of drinking water, a hand pump in Scheduled Caste Basti in Kathar-Manwal area of Nagrota Assembly Constituency was installed by BJP State President & MLA Jugal Kishore Sharma in presence of a large number of local residents and Government officials. The work for the same was undertaken by Ground Water Division of PHE, which on completion was formally handed over to the people today.
Speaking on the occasion Jugal said that there are a number of areas in Nagrota Constituency which face the drinking water scarcity, irregular supply of electricity, lack moterable roads and adequate health facilities. He said that during his last tenure as MLA, he had made many efforts to ensure the availability of at least minimum basic amenities to the people and during this term he tried to do his best to mitigate the sufferings of people also. Although a lot of areas has been covered under various schemes and provided these facilities still some areas are not in a position to enjoy regular supply of electricity and drinking water. “I assure that every area will be treated equally and efforts will continue to meet the needs of the people”, he said.
