JAMMU, June 25: State Judicial Academy today organized one day refresher course for personal staff of the Judges of High Court including Stenographers/Private Secretaries and Readers and Bench Secretaries.
The programme was organized under the guidance and patronage of Chief Patron of State Judicial Academy, Justice N. Paul Vasanthakumar, Chief Justice, High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Committee of Judges, State Judicial Academy (Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar, Chairman and Justice Hasnain Masoodi, Member).
Resource persons for the programme were Sanjay Parihar, Registrar Judicial, High Court Jammu wing, Dr. Vandna Sharma, Professor, Mata Vaishno Devi University, and Shri Gharu Kumar, System Administrator, IMPA, Jammu
The programme was conducted by Pawan Dev Kotwal, Director, State Judicial Academy.
Sanjay Parihar in his lecture advised the personal staff to follow the set norms and principles like punctuality, discipline, honesty and good behaviour and told them that the High Court is an institution where an ordinary person comes with high hope for seeking justice and, therefore, they should display high standard of ethics. He explained them exhaustively the rules and regulations governing the office procedure and enlightened them regarding ways and means which they can adopt while dealing with judicial files.
2nd Session was dealt by Dr. Vandana Sharma, Professor, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra. She enhanced English skills of the personal staff of Judges and highlighted some common errors which frequently occurred during writing and gave them practical training on the subject by giving power point presentations.
3rd and last session was dealt by Gharu Kumar, System Administrator, IMPA, Jammu who tried to improve computer knowledge and skills of the personal staff of Judges.
