JAMMU, Oct 10: The Institution Innovation Council (IIC), University of Jammu, in collaboration with the Department of Botany, organized a lecture on “Cyber Security” under the Viksit Bharat initiative.
The lecture was delivered by Mohd Yaseen Kichloo, SSP, Cyber Crime Investigation Centre for Excellence (CICE), Jammu and Kashmir.
He introduced the participants to the fundamentals of cyber security and highlighted various measures to safeguard mobile phones and electronic devices from cyber threats. Highlighting the importance of online safety, he urged participants to adopt two-step authentication for their social media accounts such as Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp.
He also informed the gathering about the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal, a platform through which individuals can report cyber-related offenses. The session included a hands-on practical component, in which participants were guided to check their mobile phones for potential vulnerabilities.
Prof Veenu Kaul, President, IIC, JU, introduced the objectives of the IIC. The lecture concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by Prof Susheel Verma, HoD Botany, JU.
