JAMMU, Oct 15: The Law School, University of Jammu (JU) in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Jammu today organised an awareness programme on ‘Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)’.
Organised under the guidance of Prof. Seema Rohmetra, Director, The Law School, JU, the programme was aimed to educate participants about the benefits and mechanisms of ADR, a crucial aspect of accessing justice.
Advocate Uma Kapahi, Panel Lawyer DLSA was the resource person and she delivered insightful sessions on ADR. She was accompanied by PLV Ravinder Sharma.
Advocate Kapahi dwelled on the practical aspects of ADR, highlighting its significance in resolving disputes through alternative methods such as mediation, arbitration and negotiation.
She shared valuable insights on how ADR can be used to resolve disputes in a cost-effective and time-efficient manner, while also preserving relationships.
Dr. Monica Narang, Associate Professor delivered the welcome address. Dr. Kartika Bakshi coordinated the program.
By organizing such programmes, DLSA and The Law School aim to empower students with knowledge about their rights and the various dispute resolution options available to them.
