JU Law School, IIT Jammu join hands to celebrate National Voters’ Day

JAMMU, Jan 23: In a powerful celebration of National Voters’ Day, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu and The Law School, University of Jammu, collaborated to present a captivating nukkad natak, “Samvidhan ka Samman, Matdaan ka Adhikar.” The scintillating performance by a group of talented students from IIT Jammu and The Law School left the audience spellbound.
The event, held at IIT Jammu’s Egret Hostel, was graced by several dignitaries, including Prof Manoj Gaur, Director IIT Jammu; Dr Sartaj ul Hassan, Dean Students Affairs; Dr R P Prajapat, AR; Dr Srishilan, Coordinator- IIT; Dr Ramesh Kumar and Dr Hamid Rasool from The Law School. The occasion was further enriched by the presence of Akhtar Hussain Qazi, Nodal Officer SVEEP, Election office, J&K, who acted as the chief guest, and K K Gandhi, renowned artist, who acted as the special guest.
The students’ energetic performance traced the journey of voting rights since independence, highlighting contemporary challenges in the electoral process and the way forward. The talented performers included Owais, Aditya Raj, Saumya, Mehul, Bhavishya, Ayush, Tanu, Kovid, Vijay, Harsh, Bhumika, Bipasha, Suhani, Disha, Nitasha, Priya, Urvashi and Suhasini.
The event was meticulously coordinated by Dr Nitan Sharma, faculty member of The Law School, under the guidance of Prof (Dr) Seema Rohmetra, Director, The Law School, and convener for the program.
