JU hosts Inter-Collegiate Yoga, Cricket C’ships

JAMMU, Sept 29: The Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, commenced the Inter-Collegiate Yoga (Men) Championship 2025-26 at the Gymnasium Hall, showcasing exceptional talent and enthusiasm among students. The event was inaugurated in the presence of Dr. Mandeep Singh, Sanjeev Kumar, Vikas Karlopia, Dr. Inderjeet Singh and other dignitaries. In the team event, the PG Department, University of Jammu, secured 1st position, followed by Government Degree College (GDC) Paloura in 2nd and GDC Doda in 3rd. In the individual category, Sahil Singh (GDC Paloura) won 1st position, Ajay Kumar (GDC Ramnagar) came 2nd and Prince Shivam Sharma (PG Department, JU) and Manjeet Singh (GDC Paloura) shared 3rd.
The event was officiated by a panel of experts including Sanjeev Kumar Pandey, Dr. Sandeep Sharma, and others. Simultaneously, the Inter-Collegiate Cricket (Men) Tournament 2025-26 also began at the University Cricket Ground. PG Arts Department, JU, registered a commanding 10-wicket win over GDC Bishnah, chasing a target of 45 runs in just 5.2 overs. In another match, GDC Dharmari defeated GDC Sidhra by 4 wickets, successfully chasing 180 in 19 overs. Both events were held under the overall supervision of Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education.
