JAMMU, Dec 15: The agitation launched by Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) entered 75th day at Jagti today.
The agitation is led by JTC and SKF president, Shadi Lal Pandita. Addressing the protestors, he said the agitation launched on October 2 this year will continue till the demands are resolved.
Pandita said,” We have been protesting in Jagti township for 75 days but the Government is not meeting our demands. The monthly cash relief of Kashmiri migrant relief holders is very low who are totally dependent on cash doles from the Government after losing their livelihood due to mass exodus of the community”, he added.
He demanded the cash assistance be increased to Rs 25,000 per family per month. Besides, the Government should provide employment to the educated youth in those families which have no serving Government employees, he added.
He demanded Government 20,000 job package for displaced youth with 5000 class IV posts for those migrant youth who could not continue their education due to poverty and pangs of migration.
He also appealed the Government to announce on spot recruitment drive in police and other para military forces for migrant youth in camps and non camp areas, construction of three townships in districts of Srinagar, Anantnag and Baramulla for rehabilitation of Displaced Pandita in Valley and adequate compensation for losses suffered for the left out properties with compensation to educated unemployed youth.
