JTC, SKF protest enters 144th day

JAMMU, Feb 22: The Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) protest cum sit-in entered 144th day at Jagti township today.
The protestors accused the Government of its failure in containing the prices and said rising prices of petrol, diesel, gas and food items have added to the problems of common people in general and Kashmiri migrants’ dependent on relief in particular who are unable to make their both ends meet.
Addressing the protesters, Shadi Lal Pandita, president JTC and SKF said that the Government demanded increase in the monthly cash relief of relief holders from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 with a Government job to those families which have no serving Government employee.
He further demanded a package of 20,000 jobs to displaced youth in Government departments, police and para military forces besides compensation suffered by them due to loss of property in shape of crop over the three decades.
