During the meeting, he briefed the LG on the functioning of the Regional Passport Office, Srinagar; developments in passport-related services; and key citizen outreach initiatives being undertaken in the region.
A key highlight of the visit was the flagging off of a special five-day Mobile Passport Van Camp to Kargil, launched by Dr. Srinivasa from Srinagar.
The camp will operate from July 21-25 at the National Informatics Centre, VC Hall, near the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Kargil, and will cater to citizens of Kargil and adjoining regions, particularly in view of the upcoming Haj pilgrimage 2026.
During his visit, Dr. Srinivasa inspected the functioning of the RPO and Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) Srinagar.
The launch ceremony was attended by senior officers and staff of RPO Srinagar and TCS.
On the occasion, Dr. Srinivasa said that ensuring timely and accessible passport services for every citizen, especially those in remote areas like Kargil, is a key priority for the Ministry.
“Initiatives like the Mobile Passport Van reflect our commitment to delivering services at the doorstep in a transparent and efficient manner,” he said.
