JAMMU, July 19: Jammu Province Bachao Manch (JPBM) here today wrote to the President of India demanding immediate restoration of full Statehood to J&K in the upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament.
The JPBM highlighted that nearly six years have passed when the erstwhile J&K State was bifurcated into two Union Territories on August 5, 2019 and the Government of India had assured of Statehood restoration at an appropriate time.
Chairman JPBM, Advocate Ashok Kumar Sharma said that restoring Statehood is not merely an administrative correction but is restoration of dignity, pride and honour to every individual of J&K.
The Manch also wrote that restoring Statehood will encourage investment and create much-needed employment opportunities for the youth.
It further emphasized the solemn commitment made by PM Modi on multiple occasions regarding Statehood restoration to J&K.
