KATHUA, June 26: The media persons mostly cameramen today staged a protest demonstration at College road here against the SHO Lakhanpur and torched his effigy for denying entry of the media persons into police station Lakhanpur to take a photograph of a drug smuggler who was arrested by police yesterday and kept in the lock up of Police Station.
The protesting mediapersons said that police has not been cooperating with them and it is not the first case of its nature. They said whenever they try to seek any information from the police they keep it a secret which is a cause of concern for media fraternity of the district.
They also accused the SHO Lakhanpur of misbehaving with media persons and alleged that they were thrown out from the PS Lakhanpur by police.
