JAMMU, Jan 9: Joint Forum of KP organizations today said that the Prime Minister’s recent statement that the resolution of the Kashmir issue was in sight and could not be made only because of the change of guard in Pakistan needs clear elaboration.
“What were the contours of the so-called resolution need to brought before the citizens of the country’’, leaders of Joint Forum Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, Hira Lal Chatta, Virender Raina, D N Kissu and S Prem Singh told reporters at a joint press conference here today.
The Government went through a protracted process of secret negotiations and dialogue with the representatives of Pakistan in order to find some solution to the so called Kashmir problem, said Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, adding the much spelt out Musharaf doctrine of demilitarization and porous borders is perhaps the ingredients of this disastrous agreement.
He said in this so-called accord, the entire contours of the agreement are heavily titled in favour of Pakistan, the State sponsor of terror. Kashmiri Pandits, the prime stake holders in Kashmir, term it as an absolute diplomatic shame and a sell out and demand that the entire conspiracy behind the secret parleys be put before the nation, he added.
The Forum leaders also termed the highly obnoxious and controversial statement of Prashant Bushan of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) regarding the holding of a referendum on the deployment of the armed forces in Kashmir are seditious. He (Bushan) had previously also made the statement of holding plebiscite in Kashmir which is condemnable, they added.
The Forum leaders said as a leader of a political party he needs to be immediately investigated to find out his antecedents and real motive behind his anti national stance.
They said the recent statement of Chief Minister that his Government will bring the Temples and Shrines Bill in the next session of the Assembly is a promise which needs to be fulfilled. It also needs to be emphasized that the Hindu places of worship and reverence in Kashmir are the common heritage of the Hindu society and constitute one unit. The statement of the CM that the jobs in Kashmir in KPs does not amount to return is in conformity with the political realities and Forum’s stated position that return and resettlement is a serious political issue and the jobs are only to cater to the basic day to day economic needs.
The Form also appeals to the members of the community to observe the Holocaust Day on January 19 at Press Club.
