JAMMU, Oct 13: The Jammu Muslim Front (JMF), chairman today termed the increased electricity tariff unjustified.
Citing the difficulties faced by the people of Jammu and Kashmir since 2019, Zaffar appealed to the Union Territory government to reconsider the recent electricity tariff order.
In a press statement issued, Zaffar stated that the increased tariff will burden middle-class consumers, daily wagers and salary earners, who are already struggling financially.
“People are struggling to make ends meet and the increased tariff will exacerbate their difficulties. The tariff should be reduced to half to make it more manageable for consumers and a minimum three-month grace period should be given to clear pending bills,” he said.
Zaffar further appealed the government to revisit the tariff order and consider the plight of the people.
