JAMMU, July 15: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) seized 10 kilograms of polythene bags and also realised a fine of Rs 4,500 from sweet shop owner for storing the sweets in plastic containers and under unhygienic condition.
The Municipal Veterinary Officer, Dr Zafar Iqbal along with field staff on the directions of Commissioner, JMC, Kiran Wattal conducted drives in Jewel, Indira Chowk, Gandhi Nagar and Shastri Nagar areas.
While checking of different shopkeepers, the team seized 10 kilograms of polythene bags.
The team while inspecting a sweet shop namely ‘Parbhat Sweets’ found that the sweets were stored in plastic containers under unhygienic condition which was not fit for humans. A fine of Rs 4,500 was realized from the defaulters.
