JAMMU, Oct 15: In alignment with the overarching goals of nationwide Poshan Maah (nutrition month) initiative, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) here today organised a comprehensive walkathon activity.
The event was strategically implemented to enhance public awareness concerning fundamental tenets of public health, optimal nutrition and civic sanitation practices among the citizenry of Jammu.
The walkathon started from the JMC Office complex and proceeded through the city, culminating at Hari Singh Park. The activity was officially led by JMC Health Officer, Dr. Vinod Sharma.
Others who participated in the walkathon included JMC officials, sanitary staff and key representatives from collaborating civic teams-the Swaaha Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Team, the RRAC Club and the Women Do Ride Group.
Participants actively engaged in the dissemination of public service messages, encouraging citizens to adopt nutritionally sound eating habits, maintain stringent personal hygiene and contribute proactively to the cleanliness of their immediate surroundings.
The Walkathon inspired the citizens to undertake deliberate and responsible measures for the cultivation of a sustainable lifestyle.
