JAMMU, Mar 24: Councillors of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Raj Kumar Tarkhan and Neena Gupta here today started road blacktopping works at Channi Himmat in Ward 50 and 51.
The work will be completed with an expenditure of Rs. 80 lakh.
Earlier a deputation of locals had met Raj Kumar and Neena Gupta few months back with demands including up-gradation of transformers, roads and tube wells.
A handout stated that the locals claimed that the area remained neglected by the successive Governments and authorities.
Raj Kumar Tarkhan and Neena Gupta met concerned authorities and after that transformer was upgraded in the area.
Addressing the gathering the JMC Councillors claimed that BJP will leave no stone unturned to end discrimination of decades being done with neglected areas of Gandhi Nagar.
They also stated that remaining demands of the people will also be addressed soon.
Balwan Singh, district BJP secretary Jammu; Kamlesh Magotra, vice president Mahila Morcha Gandhi Nagar Mandal; Poonam, district secretary Mahila Morcha Jammu; Jagdish Raj Proch, Jeevan Singh Charak, Kuldeep Sharma, Multan Singh, Deepak Kumar, Mirza Bhagat and others were also present on this occasion.
