UDHAMPUR, Nov 9: During the monthly meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Master Association, held here today under the chairmanship of UT President Rakesh Singh, the burning and genuine issue of Teachers and Masters were discussed with special focus on DPC.
While speaking on the occasion Rakesh Singh urged the Govt to extend the benefits of incentives to the National and UT level best Teacher awardees at par with other UTs/States which may include the benefit of double advance increment/reservation benefits to the children/extension in the service.
Singh expressed the serious concern regarding the delay in the DPC of Teachers and Masters and urged the Education Minister Sakinaa Itoo to personally intervene in the matter and direct the concerned authorities to conduct the much awaited DPC of the Teachers/Masters in the various streams of Lectures particularly in Science stream to fill the vacant posts of Lecturers as shortage of Lecturers in Senior secondary schools is adversely affecting the academics of the students particularly in the rural areas.
The Association also urged the Education Minister to upgrade the deserving and eligible schools with special focus to the level of Hr Secondaries so that students especially girls do not have to travel long distances to complete their studies which will also reduce the drop out among the girl students.
While expressing concern over the difference in school timings for both Jammu Division schools in Winter Zone and Kashmir Division schools, Singh said that such disparity in school timings will create psychological and emotional barriers and there is a strong need to adjust school timings of Jammu division schools similar to Kashmir Division schools.
Association passed resolution for conduct of DPC of Master grade on Division basis seniority instead of District based seniority as per past practice as DPC of Master on basis of District cadre has created situation of chaos among teachers fraternity by making seniors as juniors & vice-versa.
