UDHAMPUR, Sept 7: Monthly meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Joint Action Committee ( JKTJAC) was held here today under the leadership of UT President Vinod Sharma.
Expressing deep concern over the widespread damages caused due to recent rains and floods, Vinod Sharma said that teachers are ever ready to help the administration in helping the affected families by any means.
He also appealed the Director School Education Jammu to relax the school hours for teaching and non teaching staff as the connectivity hasn’t been restored in all areas while more than half roads are still closed and there is possibility of reaching the staff late in the places of their duty.
Earlier before starting the meeting two minute silence prayers were held to condole the sad demise of people who lost their precious lives during the natural calamities in the month of August and September.
During the meeting, participants also reiterated long pending demands of the teachers, such as comprehensive transfer policy in favour of teachers appointed under ReT scheme, restoration of Old Pension Scheme, regularisation EVs converted ReTs, conversion of RRETs to Teachers Grade II/III, conversion of Headteachers posts into non plan posts of Masters, etc.
