UDHAMPUR, Oct 4: Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) has shown resentment against rationalisation of teaching staff by Chief Education Officer Udhampur.
In a press statement, JKTJAC President Vinod Sharma has termed the rationalisation of teaching staff by Chief Education Officer Udhampur as unjustified.
He alleged that this process has added to the miseries of students and teachers as many Primary schools have become single teacher and many Middle Schools have 2-3 teachers after rationalisation.
“JKTJAC had suggested minimum two teachers in each Primary school having enrollment 10 or above and minimum 5 teachers in each middle school having enrollment 50 or above but in this rationalization, schools having enrollment upto 15 have become single teacher,” he said and asked how a single teacher can run a school when he is engaged in preparing various daks daily including MDM, U-Dise Adhaar Shila and various other online portals?
Vinod Sharma said that by this action, the department has certainly discouraged the people to send their children to Government schools where single teacher is busy in operating more than 20 online portals created by the Government and has no time or less time to attend the students.
He also highlighted the miseries of teachers who have been shifted from one corner to other without caring their problems, especially teachers appointed under ReT scheme whose jobs as per existing policy are non transferable.
He appealed Director School Education Jammu and District Development Commissioner Udhampur to intervene in this matter and get the rationalisation process reviewed by providing minimum of two teachers in each Primary school having enrollment 10 or more and atleast 5 teachers in each middle school having enrollment upto 50 and 7 teachers in schools having enrollment 100 or more as there are 9 classes in each middle school.
Also suggesting that schools having less than 10 enrollment be clubbed and no school should have single teacher, JKTJAC president threatens stir if the unjustified rationalization is not reviewed.
