JKTJAC raises burning issues of teaching fraternity

JAMMU, Sept 13: A virtual meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Joint Action Committee ( JKTJAC) was held here today under the chairmanship of UT President Vinod Sharma to discuss the burning issues related to the teachers engaged under ReT scheme.
While speaking on the occasion, Vinod Sharma raised various burning issues of the teaching fraternity which need to be addressed by the concerned authorities of the Education Department. While raising the issue of transfer policy in favour of teachers appointed under ReT scheme, he laid emphasis on the immediate framing of the same as these teachers have been working in the same schools for last more than 15 years and even high court has also given a judgement in this regard in 2016. He urged the Principal Secretary School Education to intervene in this regard to frame a comprehensive transfer policy.
He also raised the issue of declaration of B Ed result of the teachers who have pursued their qualification through IGNOU as they are unable to fill the Google form for DPC even after completion of all the formalities so that these teachers may not suffer.
Pointing out the various shortcomings in the ongoing IMPACT training for Teachers Grade II and teachers Grade III, he said that in almost all districts trainers are much junior to the trainees. He demanded that those supervising the IMPACT training should be at least of Master Grade. He also demanded clearance of pending arrears of RRETs under SSA prior to September 2018.
In the meeting all the participants stressed for resolution of many issues relating to Directorate of School Education Jammu including pending regularisation of ReTs. It was unanimously decided that if all the issues of the teachers at directorate level are not resolved before 20th of September, JKTJAC will be forced to decide future course of action including holding of protest.
