UDHAMPUR, Apr 5: Monthly meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Joint Action Committee ( JKTJAC), led by UT President Vinod Sharma and District President Udhampur Lekh Raj Parihar, was held here today.
While speaking on the occasion, Vinod Sharma raised the various genuine and burning issues of the teaching fraternity. Highlighting the issue of transfer policy for teachers appointed under ReT scheme, he urged Education Minister and Secretary School Education to frame a comprehensive transfer policy as these teachers have been working in the same schools for last more than two decades .
Demanding release of pending Mid Day Meal dues, Vinod Sharma said that still 3 to 4 months dues for 2025-26 are pending which is a matter of great concern and department is urged to release the same. He also demanded release of funds in advance for running MDM smoothly in 2026-27.
He also raised the issue of Census 2027 and SIR wherein teachers are to be engaged which would have an adverse effect on the studies of the students. He suggested that minimum number of teachers be engaged for the said purpose so that academic activities don’t hamper.
He also demanded the conversion of Education Volunteers to ReTs whose files for the same are lying in administrative department. Hailing the recent release of list of conversion of RRETs to Teachers Grade II/III by Director School Education Jammu, he urged to convert the left out RRETs to Teachers Grade II/III.
While speaking on the occasion, Lekh Raj Parihar urged the Chief Education Officer Udhampur to issue necessary directions to DDOs for the completion of service records of the teachers so that they may not suffer for the same. He also demanded transparency in rationalisation process and rotation of teachers in the same to make it more effective.
