KISHTWAR, July 3: A meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) was held here today under the leadership of UT President Vinod Sharma and District President Kishtwar Tahir Masood.
Speaking on the occasion, Vinod Sharma raised the burning issues of the teaching community and appealed the Government to resolve them amicably for the welfare of thousands of these teachers especially teachers appointed under ReT scheme.
He demanded the release of MDM dues of 7 to 8 months which the teachers have managed from their own pockets for smooth functioning of Mid Day Meals.
Regularisation of left out ReTs and conversion of RRETs to Teachers Grade II/ III were the other issues raised by the UT President, He also demanded the DPC of Teachers to Masters to clear the backlog and conversion of headteachers posts into non plan posts of Masters to overcome the shortage of staff in Middle Schools.
District President Tahir Masood, while speaking on the occasion, demanded the entertainment of undergraduate degrees acquired by teachers during service by giving post facto permission. He also appealed all the ZEOs of District Kishtwar to update the service books of the teachers so that they may not suffer.
