RAMNAGAR, Nov 16: Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) has demanded change of school timing in Winter Zone schools of Jammu division.
During a meeting of JKTJAC representatives of Zone Ramnagar and Zone Kulwanta, held at Ramnagar under the leadership of Zonal Presidents Maan Chand Khajuria and Sham Singh, wherein UT President Vinod Sharma was special invitee, speakers highlighted various burning issues of the teaching fraternity.
Raising the genuine issue of change of school timing in Winter zones of Jammu division, Vinod Sharma said that timing in Kashmir division has already been changed with effect from 1st November 2025 but the same is still not done here , though students of winter zones of Jammu division are also facing lots of hardships to reach schools in severe cold in morning. He urged Director School Education Jammu to issue the order so that the students of Jammu division also have a sigh of relief like their counterparts of Kashmir Division.
He also demanded the DPC of Teachers to Masters in Jammu Province besides DPC of all other cadres in School Education Department, sanction of posts of Masters in Middle schools upgraded under SSA, release of Mid Day Meals dues which the teachers have managed from their own pockets for smooth functioning of Mid Day Meals, resumption of mutual transfers of RRETs till Comprehensive Transfer policy is framed, release of time barred arrears of Teachers/ Masters.
Others who also spoke on the occasion, included Vipin Raina, Parshant Sharma, Pankaj Singh, Surinder Singh, Sunil Singh Baryal, Ranjeet Singh, Raj Singh, Satish, Manmohan, Mohd Zuhar, Raj Kumar, Parshotam, Arjun Singh, Gulaboo Ram, Rasalu Ram, Om Parkash, Sudesh Sharma, Manoj Singh, Surinder Shastri, Gian Chand, Pardeep Kumar and Ashok Kumar.
