JAMMU, May 25: The Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF), affiliated with All India Secondary Teachers Federation (AISTF), has appealed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for the immediate clearing of the long-pending General Provident Fund (GPF) bills and other financial entitlements of employees.
In a statement issued today by UT Spokesperson Joginder Singh Thakur, deep anguish was expressed over the inordinate delay in the disbursement of GPF bills.
“It is extremely unfortunate that teachers are being denied their own hard-earned money at a time when they are in dire need. Ailing parents are left without medication, children are unable to purchase notebooks or pay school fees, and in some tragic cases, even the marriages of daughters have been postponed,” read the statement.
