JAMMU, Mar 19: The Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum, affiliated with the All India Secondary Teachers Federation (AISTF), has urged the authorities to ensure the timely release of the salary budget for March 2025, along with the pending GP Fund and gratuity dues, ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The Forum also called for the immediate filling of vacant DDO positions to streamline administrative functioning.
JKTF State President Mohammad Ashraf Sheikh emphasized that releasing salaries before Eid-ul-Fitr, preferably before Shab-e-Qadr, will enable employees to fulfill their religious and financial obligations, make necessary purchases, and contribute to charitable causes without financial distress.
“The Government must ensure that employees receive their salaries before Eid. Timely payments will allow them to celebrate the festival with dignity and provide for their families,” he said.
He further pointed out that since the February salary had income tax deductions, many employees were left with a reduced salary, adding to their financial burden. In light of this, M Ashraf Sheikh appealed to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to ensure the immediate release of salaries.
The JKTF President also urged the authorities to clear pending GP Fund and gratuity dues of employees, providing them with much-needed financial relief during this significant period.
Meanwhile, UT General Secretary Mir Bashir Ah has demanded the timely release of the promotion list of Headmasters to fill the remaining DDO vacancies across Jammu & Kashmir. He also praised the Education Department and the Government for approving promotions in various cadres and urged them to expedite the clearance of One-Time Exemption files.
Furthermore, he called for the immediate filling of vacant Lecturer positions through the promotion quota and stressed the promotion of Teachers as Masters, ensuring career progression for the teaching fraternity across Jammu and Kashmir.
