JAMMU, Jan 2: The Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF), affiliated with All India Secondary Teachers Federation, today held a detailed meeting with the Chief Education Officer (CEO), Rajouri, to discuss long-pending and pressing issues concerning the teaching and non-teaching fraternity of the Education Department.
JKTF was represented by Mohd Mahroof Chowdhary, UT Senior Vice Chairman, JKTF and Gulshan Sharma, District President JKTF Rajouri, along with district and zonal office bearers of the Forum.
During the meeting, JKTF highlighted several unresolved matters that have been causing concern and hardship to employees for a long time. The major issues discussed included the settlement of Bridge Course issues, clearance of pending Mid-Day Meal (MDM) liabilities, and permission-related issues of teaching and non-teaching staff.
The Forum also strongly raised the demand for the release and enhancement of salaries of AAYAs, framing of a comprehensive job policy for land donors, and the release of pending salaries of Cook-cum-Helpers along with enhancement of their honorarium. Issues related to the modification and adjustment of clubbed and closed schools were also discussed in detail.
JKTF further brought to the notice of the CEO the status of reinstatement of suspension cases, stoppage of salaries in certain cases, and the acute problems faced by single-teacher schools, which are adversely affecting the teaching-learning process in remote areas. Matters pertaining to Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) cases, Time Bound Promotions (TBP), and the initiation of rationalisation in the district were also emphasized.
Additionally, the Forum demanded the reframing of inspection committees under the supervision of Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) to ensure transparency and efficiency in school inspections.
The CEO Rajouri patiently listened to all the issues raised and assured the delegation that genuine concerns would be addressed and resolved in a phased and time-bound manner, as per rules and feasibility.
