UDHAMPUR, Sept 24: A meeting of members of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) was held here today under the chairmanship of Surinder Sharma, district president JKTF, for a thread bare discussion on the present scenario of the education system.
The Forum appealed the higher authorities to adjust all the leftover Masters who were promoted in February 2014 and also fill up all the vacant posts of Headmasters, ZEOs and Principals as early as possible since the institutions are suffering badly because of delay in this regard.
The Forum strongly criticized the working style of higher authorities, especially in the implementation of MDM scheme as bills pertaining to Mid-Day Meal scheme i.e. Cooking charges, Cooks honorarium, Transportation charges etc, are pending for the last 8 months while teachers has already spent thousands of rupees from their own pockets to continue the scheme. In case the pending bills are not cleared, the institutions will have no option other than to stop the scheme, the Forum warned.
The meet also drew attention towards the recently adjusted Masters, whose salary has not been drawn because of delay in release of the grants. Some insitu promotion cases are lying pending in the office of Director School Education Jammu for the last four months while arrear regarding 6th Pay Commission installments is still pending in favour of ReTs/ Head teachers working under SSA, the meet said and sought redressal of these issues.
Those who spoke in the meeting, included Rajesh Sharma, Sanjay Sharma, Kewal Krishan, Vijay Sharma, Satvir Chowdry, Ramesh Singh, Ajay Kumar, Pardeep Kumar, Mohd Nazir, Girdhari Lal, Anil Kohli, Naresh Dogra, Viney Gupta , Rakesh Gupta, Sanjay Jandial and Kuldeep Kumar.
