JKTF delegation submits memorandum to DSE-J

JAMMU, June 30: A delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) met Dr Naseem Javed Chowdhary, Director School Education (DSE) Jammu and submitted a detailed 17-point memorandum seeking redressal of longstanding issues affecting the teaching fraternity across the Union Territory.
The delegation led by JKTF State president Mohammad Ashraf Sheikh outlined the critical and systemic concerns faced by teachers. Key demands presented included the timely issuance of pending Departmental Promotion Committees (DPCs), need for a transparent and well-structured Annual Transfer Drive (ATD), confirmation of Incharge officers, rational deployment of teaching staff and the resumption of mutual transfers for ReT teachers.
The memorandum also flagged several other significant concerns such as regularization of left-out ReTs and contingent workers, timely promotions, early release of retirement dues and GP Fund bills, creation of Head Teacher/Master posts in Middle and Upper Primary Schools, enhancement of honorarium for AAYAs and Cook-Cum-Helpers and establishment of an efficient e-filing grievance redressal mechanism.
Responding to the delegation, Dr Chowdhary acknowledged the legitimacy of the demands and assured prompt and structured follow-up, stating that the Directorate remains committed to resolving teachers’ grievances in a timely and fair manner.
Prominent among the delegation were Mehmood ul Rayaz Bhat (UT vice president), Jalil Ahmed Sheikh (UT press secretary), Lokesh Sharma (chief convenor), Ranjeet Singh (additional spokesperson), along with district presidents and senior leaders including Gulshan Sharma (Rajouri), Bhupinder Singh (Kathua), Imtiyaz ul Haq (Kishtwar), Mohd Amin (Doda), Rail Singh (Reasi), Ali Akbar (Jammu), Narinder Singh, Mohd Javid Iqbal Sheikh and Zafarullah.
