JAMMU, July 21: The Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Association (JKTA) expressed resentment over the delay in implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP)-2020 which was supposed to be implemented in 2020.
A meeting was held under the leadership of JKTA president, Bhupinder Singh wherein the apex body urged the Government to implement the same as early as possible and also asked the Government to make provisions for local indigenous languages spoken in J&K especially the western Pahari languages like Dogri, Bhaderwahi, Bhalesi, Pogali, Sarazi and Paddri.
The JKTA had submitted a memorandum to the Government for the promotion of these languages particularly pertaining to their adoption in Schools and mentioned that some languages including Bhaderwahi, Bhalesi, Pogali, Sarazi and Paddri are unidentified speeches which need adoption.
The office bearers also urged the Government to improve physical infrastructure in schools and quality education as well as resolve all the issues pertaining to the teaching community.
