JAMMU, May 28: Jammu Kashmir Sanrakshan Manch (JKSM), in partnership with the Department of Blood Transfusion, Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, organized a blood donation camp at Panch Mandir, Trikuta Nagar.
The initiative drew an enthusiastic response from the public, with donors from diverse backgrounds participating in this noble cause, reaffirming the values of compassion and solidarity within the local community.
The blood donation drive was conducted under the supervision of a dedicated medical team from GMC Jammu, ensuring that all safety protocols and medical standards were strictly followed. Donors were provided with pre-donation health checkups and post-donation refreshments, making the process smooth and reassuring for first-time and regular donors alike.
Jayesh Gupta, JKSM president, in his address, highlighted the importance of voluntary blood donation. He stated that every drop of donated blood has the potential to save lives, particularly in emergencies, surgeries, and for patients with chronic illnesses such as thalassemia and cancer.
Gupta stressed that while medical advancements have progressed significantly, there is still no substitute for human blood, making voluntary donation an irreplaceable act of service. He called upon more citizens, especially youth, to come forward and become regular donors.
