RAJOURI, July 20: The Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers Forum (JKRETTF), Zone Rajouri, has appealed the authorities to immediately reclaim the Chief Education Office (CEO) land encroached upon by the grabbers.
Addressing media persons here, the Forum claimed nearly 35 Kanals of the land belonging to the CEO office Rajouri is currently under illegal encroachment.
“Immediate efforts should be made to demarcate and retrieve this land,” demanded the Forum.
The Forum suggested that the reclaimed land should be used to construct a modern ZEO Office complex with conference halls and residential quarters for staff.
They appealed to the Lieutenant Governor, Education Minister, and Deputy Commissioner Rajouri to act strictly against the encroachers and restore the land for educational use.
The Forum also thanked the authorities for shifting the office of Zonal Education Officer to a suitable location.
Welcoming the move, JKRETTF Zonal President Mushtaq Chechi and Provincial President Arshad Choudhary said the previous ZEO office near the Mini Sports Stadium was too small and lacked basic facilities, like proper meeting space, parking, and documentation areas.
They said teachers had been facing serious difficulties in departmental work due to the congested location.
They claimed that shifting of the ZEO office to the vacant building of the old Boys Higher Secondary School in the main town is a welcome move.
Meanwhile, the Forum reaffirmed its commitment to protecting teachers’ rights and education infrastructure in Rajouri town.
