JAMMU, June 26: Taking dig at lackadaisical attitude of coalition Government over issue of reservation in promotions, the members of socio religious organisations like All J&K Mahasha Sadar Sabha, Shri Guru Ravi Dass Sabha, Kabir Sabha, Bhagat Mahasabha, Backward Classes Union, Prajapati Sabha, Retired Employees Forums, Bhim Rao Ambedkar Education Foundation, Bhim Rao Ambedkar Education Society and social activists from all the reserved categories, many Panches & Sarpanches, in a joint meeting organised by Jammu Kashmir Reserve Categories Employees (JKRCEA) here today threatened mass agitation in case the reservation in promotions are not restored immediately.
The leaders of reserved classes were demanding political solution to issue of reservation in promotions to address the aspirations of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Resident of Backward Area (RBA), Actual Line of Control (ALC) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) categories.
Dr. Sanjay Bhasin, president of JKRCEA, who chaired this meeting, while addressing the conglomerate said that the people of reserve categories have been keenly observing the response of Government in general and the legislators of reserved categories and those who have won due to votes of reserved categories in particular but unfortunately so far their hopes seem fading which is not good sign.
